Nebraska COVID-19 update: Lincoln reports 40 cases Tuesday; dozens more cases in central Nebraska

The health district reports it has had 39 deaths and 1,320 positive cases to date.
The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced 40 new cases of COVID-19 in Lincoln on Tuesday morning, bringing the community total to 434.
LLCHD announced an additional five cases during Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird's afternoon news conference.
The community total is now 439.
A fifth employee at the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services
has tested positive for COVID-19, the NDCS announced Tuesday.
The staff member is employed at the Nebraska State Penitentiary and is now self-isolating at home.
Notification of the positive case will be given to the facility, the NDCS reported. Anyone who may have had close contact with the employee in the last 72 hours will be directed to self-quarantine.
No inmates have tested positive for the coronavirus, according to the NDCS.
