June 21 COVID-19 update: Douglas County reports 63 new cases
Here is a summary of new cases and other COVID-19 stats reported Sunday by health officials across Nebraska & Iowa.
The Douglas County Health Department reported 63 new cases on Sunday, bringing the area's total to 6,412.
No additional deaths were reported. The death toll in Douglas County from COVID-19 remains at 80.
DCHD also confirmed 2,472 residents have recovered from the coronavirus.
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services reported an inmate at the Nebraska State Penitentiary in Lincoln has tested positive for COVID-19.
It is the eighth inmate in NDCS to test positive. Notification has been given to those who live and work at the facility and anyone who may have had close contact with the inmate will self-quarantine.
The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department announced eight additional cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in their area on Sunday.
The total number of cases in Lancaster County is now 1,611. The number of deaths in the community remains at 10.
