Mule deer take flight for research study

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Some Nebraska mule deer got an exciting ride through the sky on their way to be GPS tagged for research.

The study aids in the management of the deer populations and is run by a team from UNL and was aided by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

The deer were caught by helicopter captures teams in four different locations in Nebraska.

After being captured and fitted with the monitors, the deer also underwent DNA sampling, blood draws and a variety of measurements. They also received ultrasounds.
