The results of a six month study are in and engineers have concluded that the city of Omaha's current method of collecting garbage is not ideal.

Engineers worked through five different scenarios and, according to Mayor Jean Stothert, the current system of three trucks going by each house on pick up days is both more expensive and environmentally harmful.

No alternative plan has been revealed yet but the popular Oma-Gro, the separate collection of yard waste which is turned into compost, is one of the main factors leading to our current plans inefficiency.
