Masked bandits tripped-up by credit union door locks
Authorities are looking for two men who tried to rob a metro credit union Saturday morning but were foiled by the door locks.
The incident happened at the Creighton Federal Credit Union at 91st and Bedford around 9:30 a.m.
Omaha Police officers responded to a holdup alarm and the alarm was upgraded to an attempted robbery call as they were en route.
Witnesses said that two men, heavyset and armed, tried to get into the building but got only as far as the locked doors. They left heading west in a Buick LeSabre. The vehicle was found abandoned on Maplewood Blvd., about seven blocks to the west.
Both of the suspects wore black, zip-up hooded swearshirts; white surgical masks and gloves.
