Man killed after being electrocuted in Lincoln identified by police

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police have identified a man who was electrocuted while trimming trees on Wednesday afternoon.

LPD said Zachary Francke, 36, was killed when he a limb fell on an electrical line and he tried to remove it.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue said they were called to the 2300 block of South 39th Street around 3 p.m., on a call of a possible electrocution.

Upon arriving, emergency crews found Francke up in the tree, deceased. He was brought down from the tree and nearby power lines were de-energized, LFR said.

The tree was also set on fire during the incident.
