WATERLOO, Neb. (WOWT) - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Waterloo Police Department responded to a residence in Douglas County on Sunday for suspicious activity.
Homeowners returned from out of town to find their garage and the inside door open. There was also an unknown truck parked in front of the neighbor's house, so they called 911.
Law enforcement arrived and searched the house. That's when a man ran out the back of the house.
A foot-pursuit began and eventually the man was caught.
He was identified as Patrick Newcomer, 32. He did not have a prior criminal record but has been charged with possession of burglary tools, burglary and obstruction.
The truck belonged to Newcomer and was impounded.
