Mallory's Morning Forecast - Record highs possible Thursday

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A hot and humid Thursday is ahead! Wednesday, high temperatures reached the mid-80s in the Metro. Today, we’ll be flirting with record highs!

Temperatures are already starting out on a very mild note in the Metro! We’re near 70° in the Metro, with 60s scattered outside of Omaha. Conditions are muggy as well, with dew points in the 60s.

Plenty of sunshine is in store today, with winds from the SSW 10-15 mph. Highs will top out in the low to mid-90s! The record daily high for May 16th in Omaha is 93°. Our forecast high is 95°.

Clouds will increase once again by this evening, with an isolated storm possible late – primarily north of the Metro. Strong to severe storm potential will stay concentrated in far northern Nebraska and northern Iowa this evening/tonight.

A few scattered showers or thundershowers are possible early Friday, before partly cloudy skies take over for the afternoon and evening. Friday will be warm and windy, with highs in the upper-80s, near 90°.

Scattered storms – some strong – are possible for us Friday night, but the higher severe potential will stay to our west and northwest.

We will have some dry time Saturday before storms fire up again by the afternoon hours. Some of these storms may also be strong to severe, especially east.

Rain will exit early Sunday, with cooler temperatures moving in to round out the weekend.
