OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A windy Valentine’s Day is ahead! We’re starting off with mild temperatures and calm winds, but that is set to change throughout the day.
We’ll hit our high of 32° around 9 AM, before a cold front moves through and shifts winds from the NNW. These NNW winds will gust up to 40 mph throughout the day, dropping us into the 20s for lunch and early afternoon, with teens in store by dinner.
Because of the dropping temperatures and gusty winds, wind chills will also plummet. It will feel like the single digits for the afternoon, and below-zero tonight.
Partly cloudy, cold, and breezy conditions take us into tonight with lows in the single digits.
Snow chances return Friday, primarily after 9 AM. The axis of highest snowfall will stay to the southwest of the Metro, with Omaha forecasted to receive 1”-3” by the drive home.
We’ll stay quiet and cold Friday night through Saturday afternoon, before another snow chances moves in Saturday evening through Sunday morning.
