Peta's Forecast - Seasonably cold January weather

By  |

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Mostly sunny skies return today, but we’re tracking the coldest temperatures in about a week!

Sunshine will take us through the majority of the day, with clouds increasing from west to east later this afternoon and evening. Highs will top out in the mid-30s today, which is fairly seasonable for January.

We’ll drop down into the low-20s tonight under partly cloudy skies.
More sunshine returns Thursday with SSE winds warming us back into the low-40s. Clouds increase Friday ahead of potential winter weather Friday night into Saturday morning.

The models are becoming more agreeable on some kind of wintry mix during this time frame, but are still disagreeing on the northern extent of this storm. Because of this, accumulation is still in question, but we will continue to keep you alert to updates as data comes in. Just keep the forecast in mind if you have any plans here or off to our southeast.

This system moves out Saturday afternoon, with drier conditions in store Sunday and the beginning of next workweek. Highs will gradually rebound as well.
