OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s a chilly start to the day, but above-average temperatures return this afternoon!
Some thin clouds are hanging around early, but we are looking to stay dry under partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Highs will top out in the lower-40s in the Metro; expect slightly warmer temperatures to the southwest and slightly cooler temperatures to the northeast.
Clouds increase tonight with overnight lows in the upper-20s.
Clouds hang tough throughout the day Friday with slightly cooler highs in the upper-30s. Things start to change as we head into Friday evening and Saturday. Precipitation will start off as a rain/snow mix after dinner Friday with the best chance hanging south of I-80. The coverage looks to increase Friday night into Saturday morning as the mix transitions to light snow.
Models this morning are more agreeable on the northern extent of this system including the Omaha Metro. With snow lingering into early Saturday afternoon, accumulation is looking more and more likely. Highest accumulations will still stack up to our southeast, but if this trend holds, a couple of inches of snowfall are possible. Stay alert as we head into this weekend, and we’ll keep you updated on the latest forecast.
We’ll dry out Saturday afternoon with clouds hanging around through Sunday. More sunshine returns by Monday. The amount of snow we receive will impact temperatures through the beginning of next week.
