OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A First Alert Day is in effect for today – February 11th.
All is quiet and cloudy to kick off Monday, but the evening commute will be a different story. Patchy freezing drizzle is already developing in central Nebraska and just west of the Metro, creating slick spots. A light wintry mix is also developing to the south, near Kansas City.
We’ll see chances for precipitation increase throughout the day, with patchy freezing drizzle possible in Omaha by mid-morning. A wintry mix will take us through the afternoon with a transition to snow by late afternoon/evening. Expect impacts for the ride home! A Winter Weather Advisory takes us through midnight, with snow tapering off from west to east overnight.
The highest snowfall totals look to have shifted southeast; 1”-3” look likely in the Metro, with 3”-6”+ possible to the southeast of Omaha. Lower snow totals and higher ice accumulations likely west and northwest.
