Dangerously cold temperatures are the big story as we wrap up the month of January.
Sunshine returns for your Tuesday. Northwest gusts up to 35 mph will make it feel sub-zero for the good majority of the day. Bundle up!
Wind Chill Warnings go in effect starting at 6 PM this evening, as air temperatures drop down to -10 to -20° overnight. Wind chills will be near 30-below for the Metro Wednesday morning. Under these conditions, frostbite can occur on exposed skin in the matter of 10 minutes.
Temperatures will struggle to warm above 0° throughout the day Wednesday, with Wind Chill Advisories extending through Thursday morning.
Another quick wave of snow is possible Wednesday morning and early afternoon, primarily off to the southwest of the Metro. We’re also watching a chance for light snow early Thursday for our Iowa counties.
Temperatures warm back near normal by Friday, with 40s possible by the weekend! Stay safe and stay warm over the next few days.
