OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s a chilly start, but we’re expecting the warmest weather of the week this afternoon!
We’re starting off in the single digits in the Omaha Metro and off to the east, where skies stayed mostly clear overnight with fresh snow cover. Conditions are slightly milder to the west with clouds increasing and less snow cover.
We’ll see more clouds around today, but calmer winds from the south will allow temperatures to warm above-freezing this afternoon! Expect mid to upper-30s in the Metro, with 40s off to the west and southwest. It’ll be a snow vs. no snow kind of temperature gradient across the viewing area!
Mostly cloudy skies are on tap tonight, with temperatures remaining mild in the mid to upper-20s.
We’ll reach our high Thursday during the morning hours, before a front swings through and drops temperatures through the rest of the day. Behind this front, conditions will be very windy as well with NW gusts up to 40 mph. If you’re heading out to dinner for Valentine’s Day, we’ll likely be in the teens by the evening hours!
The dry weather ends Friday, with our next chance for snow arriving during the afternoon and evening hours. In addition, another system swings through Saturday evening through Sunday morning. With the active pattern still in play, keep track of the weather with the WOWT First Alert Weather App!
