A Lincoln Police officer underwent surgery on Sunday after being assaulted by a suspect in downtown Lincoln on Friday.
LPD said authorities were called to a disturbance near 10th and 'Y' streets at about 9:30 p.m.
That's where they found 18-year-old Kevin Estrada pushing over motorcycles and running around screaming.
When authorities attempted to detain Estrada, he punched the 24-year-old officer in the face, breaking his nose, causing a sinus fracture, and an orbital blowout fracture.
The officer underwent surgery on Sunday afternoon, and was released from the hospital.
Estrada was arrested for first-degree assault of an officer, resisting arrest, and vandalism.
