Lincoln Police investigate attempted kidnapping of 10-year-old girl

LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) -- Lincoln Police are looking for a man in connection with the attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to a park near NW 20th and Q around 4:30 p.m. where witnesses and the victim described a man in his 20s who pulled the girl into his arms. The man released her to wave to another 10-year-old girl and walked in her direction.

The second girl ran to a neighbor while yelling for help. Two neighbors responded. One of them called 911 and began following the suspect who was then walking away from the park. Police said he noticed he was being followed and he ran.

Police searched the area, contacted the victims and interviewed witnesses but could not locate the suspect.
