Lincoln Police: Teen shot while walking on O Street

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police are investigating after a teen says he was shot while walking along O Street Friday afternoon.

Capt. Farber with LPD said it happened at about 1:30 p.m.

The boy told police he was walking eastbound on O Street when he heard a popping noise and felt a sharp pain in his left leg.

LPD said the boy then started running and ran near Lincoln High School, where he saw a few friends and waived them down for help, realizing he'd been shot.

The friends drove him to the hospital and he was treated for the gunshot wound.

Police said they're still investigating the incident and are trying to pin down exactly where it happened.
