BELLEVUE, Neb. (WOWT) - Several local law enforcement agencies combined to show off some of their equipment Tuesday for National Police Officer's Week.

Officers from Omaha, Bellevue and the Douglas and Sarpy County Sheriff's offices set up at the Pointe Community Center near Offutt Air Force Base.

People in the community had the opportunity to get to know officers and check out some of the high-tech equipment.

It was also a good opportunity to thank those who serve.

"When we come to work every single day, whether we are military, whether we are civilians, we're putting on that badge and we are out there to keep the peace and provide everyone that sense of security," MSgt. Kristyne Feldman said.

So far in 2019, 42 police officers have been killed in the line of duty along with five police canines.
