OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- A judge has denied bond for Jeremiah Connelly, accused of the murder of Jeanna Wilcoxen.

Connelly was arrested after running from a traffic stop last Friday. Under questioning about the stolen car he was driving, police say he made reference to a woman's death and the investigation led the discovery of Ms. Wilcoxen's body on the side of a desolate road near Fremont.

In court on Wednesday, investigators said Connelly was supposed to meet with victim on September 16 but she cancelled. The say that upset him and, according to prosecutors, he tracked her down, watching and waiting for her at Christie Heights Park.

Detectives say that's where he strangled her, bound her and abducted her in a van. Prosecutors say he sexually assaulted her and eventually choked her to death. The autopsy shows she died of asphyxiation.

Connelly showed no emotion in court Wednesday.

A preliminary hearing is set for November 7th.
