Reynolds COVID-19 update: Test Iowa site coming to Council Bluffs

DES MOINES, Iowa (WOWT) -- During her daily news conference Friday morning, Gov. Kim Reynolds announced plans for three new Test Iowa sites, including one in Council Bluffs.

The site is scheduled to be operational Friday, May 29, according to Iowa's COVID-19 response website, though no location has yet been provided.

Reynolds also announced the Test Iowa site operating in Sioux City since May 4 will close when testing concludes at 6 p.m. today. Testing will remain available in Sioux City via local health care providers. A new Test Iowa Site will also be open in Sioux Center, according to a release from the governor's office.

The first step to obtaining a test is to complete — or re-submit — an assessment on "and schedule an appointment at a test site, the release states.
