Homicide suspect held without bond

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- Donovan Fryer, 23, has been ordered held without bond in connection with the death of Rodrick Moore Jr. on July 5th.

In court on Friday, prosecutors said in events preceding the deadly gunfire, Fryer had been upset over a $30 marijuana debt allegedly owed to him by a friend of Moore's.

They said security video and two witnesses identified Fryer arguing with Moore and Moore's friend at Jackson Tower on South 27th Street. Prosecutors said two shots were fired in a stairwell and the video shows Fryer leaving the scene.

Moore, 20, died from the injuries.

Homicide investigators arrested Fryer for Second Degree Murder, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony and Possession of a Gun by a Prohibited Person.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 29th.
