OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- Dozens of heartland teenagers get some life-saving lessons behind the wheel Thursday.

Recently-licensed teen drivers got a first-hand look at the importance of wearing your seatbelt in the Ford Driving Skills for Life class at Werner Park.

The teens got to try driving simulators and see why they need to be careful when driving around large trucks.

Organizers hope these teens will take these lessons with them for the rest of their lives. About 60 students took part in Thursday’s event which was paid for, in part, by the Highway Safety Grant.
