HDR puts down new roots at Aksarben Village

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- HDR stepped into the future Thursday, formally unveiling its new global headquarters at Aksarben Village.

The engineering, consulting and architectural firm had hoped to move to a downtown location. It wasn't possible but on Thursday they opened their doors to show us a look inside the new facility.

Rising 10 stories, there is still extra room to put up a second building should they need to accommodate future growth.

There is light-filled space that is designed, in part, to foster creativity.

With more than 1,100 employee's, businesses around the area are looking forward to the economic boom as well as the crowded restaurants.

Roast Coffee Shop is just across the street. It stays busy inside. In order to prevent overcrowding Thomas Montoya tells us they have a solution. “Actually, our company, we put a kiosk inside. We have a full coffee bar so we are keeping coffee lovers inside the buildings so we aren’t getting overwhelmed here at our location at Aksarben Village."
