Giant youth sports complex nearing completion in Council Bluffs

Construction crews are working to turn an empty parking lot next to the Council Bluffs Mid-America Center into a state-of-the-art youth sports complex.
The complex is the latest endeavor for Fieldhouse USA, a Texas-based company that specializes in building and managing multi-purpose youth sports facilities. They already have several locations near Dallas. Now they're expanding to the metro.
Corporate GM Adam Bishop, who is overseeing the Council Bluffs project, told WOWT 6 News: "There's a lot of emphasis on youth sports here - whether that's volleyball, basketball. It's a sports haven... so we're really excited about the growth."
Bishop said the hope is to turn Council Bluffs into a youth sports destination, with the new facility hosting games and tournaments all year long.
The facility will have 100,000 square feet of space - enough to house 8 hardwood basketball courts, 12 volleyball courts, and areas for other activities.
The construction deadline is December 5th but Bishop told WOWT 6 News crews could finish ahead of schedule.
