A former Fremont police officer has been arrested on sexual assault charges.
Austin Williams, 33, was arrested on Friday for two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child. He also faces one count of attempt of a class one felony and other charges.
The Nebraska State Patrol began an investigation into Williams when it was notified of a potential assault by an advocacy center.
Williams' employment with FPD ended this week.
