The Friday morning commute ran into a thick blanket of fog draped across the metro. Be sure to leave extra time to negotiate your way through the trouble spots.

Omaha Police advised caution in advance of the morning rush.

The patchy fog left some areas around the metro with reasonable visibility and others at the bottom of the soup bowl.

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 A.M.

In addition to the visibility troubles, a vehicle that broke down on eastbound I-80 near 42nd Street caused a significant backup around 6:30 Friday morning. That vehicle had been removed by approximately 7:15.
