Flames completely destroy vacant home in South Omaha

A vacant home near 24th and P Streets was the scene of a fire for the second time in a few short months.

At approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Omaha Firefighters responded to a house fire near 24th Street and P Street.

When they arrived on scene the found the house to be fully engulfed in flames. Heavy smoke could be seen from miles away.

The home is believed to be vacant. Firefighters said that this is the second time that this particular house has gone up in flames this year. The structure is considered a total loss.
