Fifth Case of Coronavirus reported to Nebraska health department

A fifth presumptive case of coronavirus reported to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Tuesday is a Crofton High School student, the department said.

The department is waiting for confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control.

was announced Tuesday to be a 36-year-old woman recovering at home.

The student will be transferred to the Biocontainment Unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Investigations into who the student has been in contact with have begun, the department said in a release Tuesday.

Anyone who had close contacts with the student will self-quarantine and be monitored twice daily for symptoms by public health officials.
