A former military vehicle has been added to the flood fight in western Douglas County on Friday afternoon as Sheriff's deputies deployed the department's MRAP vehicle to Waterloo to assist with rescue efforts in that area.
Capt. Wayne Hudson told 6 News the vehicle was put into service to help move rescuers around in dangerous flood zones and to provide support for ongoing flood-related efforts.

Hudson also told 6 News late Friday night first-responders were still dealing with people driving around barricades and then getting stuck in flood waters.
Law enforcement continues to monitor the flooding along the Elkhorn River and urges drivers to steer clear of flooded roads because of how dangerous the situation is, especially at night.
