OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) After a few morning clouds, sunshine was the rule this afternoon across much of the area. Temperatures climbed into the low and middle 50s in many locations, even topping out at or above 60 degrees in Lincoln, Beatrice and Falls City! This evening, mainly clear skies are expected initially, but high clouds will be on the increase after sunset. Temperatures will drop off fairly quickly initially, falling to around 40 by 7pm. Conditions should still be relatively mild for anyone headed downtown for the re-scheduled fireworks!
Temperatures will level off overnight around 32 degrees as clouds thicken up. Winds will also be increasing out of the east and southeast, becoming breezy by morning.
We will have a storm system pass by to our north late tonight through Sunday night. This will bring mainly cloudy and breezy conditions for Sunday. As the storm system moves by, moisture will be extremely limited across our area so we are not expecting much in the way of precipitation. However some light drizzle or a couple of showers are possible in the afternoon, with the better chance for rain showers to our east. It will also becoming quite breezy, with wind gusts of 20 to 25mph possible coming in out of the southeast. With the cloudy conditions and chance for drizzle, temperatures will not be quite as warm, topping out in the middle 40s.
Skies will clear out on Monday as the chance for rain and drizzle moves out. Winds will turn to the west and southwest, which should give us another chance to warm into the low or middle 50s. A cold front will push through on Tuesday, dropping highs into the middle 40s. Wednesday looks much cooler, with highs only in the middle 30s. We should climb back into the 40s for Thursday and Friday with mainly dry conditions.
