David's Forecast - Warm and breezy Easter Weekend

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It was a bit of a chilly start this morning with a few spots dropping into the 30s, but sunshine and southwest winds quickly warmed us up. Temperatures were in the 70s by midday, with 80s widespread this afternoon. Winds have been breezy out of the southwest gusting to 25mph at times. Those winds will stick around into the early evening, dying off some overnight. A few clouds will move in by late evening, but otherwise fantastic weather is expected into the evening hours. Temperatures will remain very mild this evening, only falling to around 71 by 9pm. Partly cloudy skies will move in overnight, with lows in the middle 50s.

Partly to mostly sunny skies will continue into Sunday with warm conditions. Temperatures will start off in the low to mid 50s, but we will quickly warm into the 70s by midday, with highs once again in the lower 80s! Winds may be on the breezy side once again, with some gusts during the late morning and afternoon in the 20 to 30mph range. Clouds will begin to increase during the afternoon, with mostly cloudy skies by the evening. A storm system will push into the region late in the day, and scattered thunderstorms are likely to develop in the evening. Initially, the best chance for storms will be to the south and west of the metro, but a few storms may spread into the metro area after 8 or 9pm. After a few initial thunderstorms, scattered showers will continue across the area through the overnight with temperatures dropping into the middle 50s.

Scattered showers will continue into Monday, mainly in the morning hours. Clouds and cooler conditions are expected for the afternoon with highs in the low to mid 60s. Rain should push out of the area by the afternoon. Some clearing on Tuesday, but temperatures will remain in the low to mid 60s. More sunshine will return on Wednesday with highs climbing back to around 70. Mild weather will the round out the week with highs in the middle 70s. A chance for scattered showers or storms will return to the forecast by Friday evening.
