Creighton adds a freebie to the disappearing act

OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton University has a celebratory event slated as the moon plans to upstage the sun this month.

Glasses Giveaway and Solar Eclipse Presentation

  • Rigge Science Building Lecture Hall, Room 120

Parking is available in the 25th Street lot between Cuming and Burt Streets

Event Details: Creighton University physics professor Jack Gabel, PhD, will give a presentation about the Great American Solar Eclipse. Free pairs of special glasses for viewing the eclipse will be given away while supplies last (So get there early to claim your pair!)

Gabel will provide information about what to expect, why total solar eclipses are rare and spectacular to see, good locations to view the eclipse and what the view will be like in and around Omaha. Safe viewing and photography tips also will be discussed. This event is free and open to the public.
