Four people were hurt in a Saturday afternoon traffic accident near 132nd and Dodge. Two of them were hospitalized in critical condition.

The accident happend around 1:45.

Police say Stephanie Wheeler, 18, who suffered a critical head injury, was driving a PT Cruiser. Investigators say she was turning right onto northbound 132nd Street after exiting the West Dodge Expressway.

In the course of the turn, the PT Cruiser was hit on the driver's side by a northbound Chevy Sliverado pickup truck driven by John Niemoth, 66. Police say the pickup had traveled through a steady red traffic signal. They say Niemoth is being treated for a critical medical issue that is believed to have happened just prior to the crash. Additionally, he suffered a collapsed lung in the accident.

After the initial impact, the pickup then hit the rear of a northbound GMC Envoy driven by Jillian Scherer, 30.

Glass from the PT Cruiser also hit the back of a Hyundai Elantra travelling behind it. The Elantra was driven by Jennifer Bruhn, 35.

Innecent Mnbasha, 29, was a passenger in the pickup truck and is being treated for neck, back and leg pain.

Elizabeth Jones, 17, is being treated for a concussion.

Neither Scherer, the driver of the Envoy, nor Bruhn, the driver of the Elantra, were hurt.
