CB police looking for armed man who attempted to steal vehicle

Council Bluffs police are warning about an armed man that attempted to steal a car.

Officers responded to a call just after 8 a.m. in the 3000 block of Ave. E where they met with the owner of the vehicle.

The owner explained he had used a remote start to start hi Chevy Suburban and left his house to find a man sitting in the vehicle. When the owner confronted the man, the man pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the owner.

The vehicle owner ran back in his house and the man with the gun walked away headed west.

The man was describe as tall, possibly bald and wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants and a black backpack.

Offices were unable to find the suspect in the area.
