CB Police assist paramedics with patient refusing care

A police presence in a Council Bluffs neighborhood was to assist paramedics with a patient refusing help.

Officers were dispatched to Wenwood Dr. just before 4 p.m. to assist paramedics.

They found a man barricaded inside a residence who needed medical and psychological care.

Emergency Services Team and Crisis Negotiators were called to assist because the man possessed firearms.

After two and a half hours, the man peacefully surrendered and was taken to the hospital for care.

Due to the nature of the incident, his identity is not being released. His condition is also unknown.
