Bond was set at 10 percent of $300,000 Tuesday morning for the inmate accused of assaulting a corrections officer at the Douglas County Jail Sunday night.
Twenty-one-year-old Matthew Lathan, jailed for an April convenience store robbery, allegedly punched the officer five to six times and slammed his head on the floor, resulting in the guard losing consciousness. He was released from the hospital on Monday.
A preliminary hearing for Lathan is scheduled for September 28th.
