Bigfoot Bonanza - All things Bigfoot takes over Hastings for Nebraska conference
Through all of the years of Bigfoot sightings, the eyewitness videos, the books, etc., I think we've all learned one thing: If you're going to mess with Sasquatch, he's going to steal your Jack Links beef jerky. That's just a fact.
Another fact, as a handful of readers pointed out: The Second Annual Nebraska Bigfoot Conference is this weekend in Hastings, Neb., a 2-and-a-half-hour drive west of Omaha.
From videos and books to guest speakers and bigfoot eyewitnesses, this gathering is expected to draw a big crowd to the Hastings City Auditorium. It continues today and tomorrow (Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16 and 17).
One of the guest speakers at this year's event is Bob Gimlin. Yep, THAT Gimlin, from the Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film, the most famous of all the Bigfoot films.
Recorded in Northern California in 1967 by Roger Patterson (died in 1972) and Bob Gimlin (now 86), the video shows a jittery, unfocused image of a Bigfoot (named "Patty") walking gracefully along Bluff Creek. You can see it (along with nine other Bigfoot sighting video clips) by clicking
Another speaker will be Cliff Barackman, from the Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot" series.
If you go, hide your Jack Links!
