Woman escapes Council Bluffs house fire; two pets killed

A woman escaped a burning home in Council Bluffs Tuesday morning. Two pets died in the fire on High Street between 14th and 15th Avenue.

The call went out at 7 a.m.

Firefighters reported the house engulfed in flames as they arrived.

One person was inside the house when the fire broke out. She got out safely. Two pets were killed - a dog and a cat.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
