Another step in the right direction
It's part walk, part run and all to instill Hope for the Homeless.
More than 200 participants were signed up to support the Siena/Francis House Saturday morning by putting their feet to work in the 24th annual Hope for the Homeless 5K Walk/Run.
The runners launched from Stinson Park at 9 a.m. with the walkers out of the gate at 9:05 - all on an out-and-back course with the Keystone Trail as a guide and a booster shot of hope as a goal.
The Siena/Francis House is Nebraska's largest shelter serving individuals experiencing homelessness. The organization has been providing food, shelter, clothing and hope for more than 40 years. The Siena/Francis House also provides addiction recovery services and permanent housing to those in need.
In 2017 alone the Siena/Francis House served 424,380 meals and provided 166,343 shelter stays.
