Ann Ashford announces 2020 run for Nebraska's 2nd District

Democrat Ann Ashford recently announced her run for Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District in 2020.

”We all have to stand up for one another, we all have to support one another, and we all have to make sure that the American dream is realized for all of us," Ashford tweeted.

Ashford's husband, Brad, who held the seat from 2015 to 2017 before losing to Don Bacon, showed his support in a retweet:

lost the chance for a rematch against Bacon when

Kara Eastman defeated him in the 2018 Democratic primary

Bacon went on to win re-election in November
