Airman faces premeditated murder, desertion charges in death at Offutt Air Force Base

An Airman faces premeditated murder and desertion charges after another Airman was
at Offutt Air Force Base back in August 2016.
Airman 1st Class Timothy Wilsey was charged with the premeditated murder of Airman 1st Class Rhianda Dillard. Wilsey also faces a charge of desertion.
The case will move through the military criminal justice process, beginning with a preliminary hearing which has yet to be scheduled. While the military criminal justice is similar to the federal criminal justice system, it provides special accommodations for the needs of the military.
"We have great confidence in our military justice system, which holds military members accountable for their actions and provides a fair and efficient process for just resolutions in all cases," said Col. Marty Reynolds, 55th Wing commander.
At the time of her death, Dillard was assigned to the 55th Strategic Communications Squadron at Offutt. Wilsey is an Air Force member assigned to the 55th Intelligence Support Squadron at Offutt.
