New arrests open old wounds for LeFlore family

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) -- Two more arrests have been made in the murder of Army Sergeant Kyle LeFlore.

The LeFlore family, especially Kyle's brother Gabriel, were surprised to hear that two new people had been arrested in the connection with Kyle's death.

"It's crazy to think over a piece of jewelry, it's taken five people and now you got to look at this as five different families that are going to be broken," said Gabriel.

Latiba Lemon and Duane Walker join Jason Devers, Larry Goynes and Shydale Glass charged in connection with Kyle's murder.

For Gabriel, a new arrest means reopening old wounds.

"That's the hard part. That's the part that gets you on a rollercoaster. You got to keep going back over it again and hearing the peoples name and doing it again," said Gabriel.

In January, LeFlore was home on leave from South Korea when he was robbed, shot and killed outside Reign Lounge, just a few blocks away from where he grew up.

Through all their pain, the LeFlore family continues to honor Kyle every day.

Kyle's dad Kay tells 6 News, "We're going to name a street after him, the street he was raised and born on."

That street is where Gabriel says they all had their first breaths, on 29th and Meredith where the sign will be added.

"We're going to change that to his name so we can always remember him every day. When we come home when his son comes home," said Gabriel.
