OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - As cold air dives in from the north and warmer air sets up to the south, we will get a mix of wintry precipitation across our area today. This will cause slick road conditions.
A mix of freezing rain and sleet will setup across our area this morning. Large fluffy snowflakes will work in this afternoon. This round of wintry weather will wrap up around dinner time this evening. The lesser end of 1” to 3” of snowfall accumulation will be possible for the metro. Higher totals will stay confined to the south.
Don’t anticipate any warming today. Temperatures will reach the lower 30s. Clouds will break apart overnight and allow temperatures to dip into the lower 20s.
Sunday will be the pick day of the weekend. With more sun than clouds, highs will reach the lower 40s by the afternoon. If you like warmer temperatures, you are in store for a treat Monday. Highs will top in the lower 50s with plenty of sunshine. That will allow significant melting to take place.
The weather story takes a turn Wednesday. Temperatures will dip into the lower 40s and another storm system will roll in and bring us another round of mixed winter weather.
