OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Rain, wind, and cool temperatures… All in the forecast today.
A light wave of rain moved through the Omaha Metro overnight, so roads may be a bit wet as you head into work. Another wave of showers look to pass through after 7 or 8 AM, with some dry time possible around lunch into the early afternoon.
Then, more scattered showers and storms will fire up mid-afternoon through the early overnight hours. Some of these storms late could be strong to severe, especially south near the Kansas and Missouri borders.
Temperatures today will hover in the 50s for the majority of the day, with a chance at hitting 60° late this evening. Winds will continue to pick up into the afternoon, with sustained winds 15-30 mph and gusts up to 50 mph!
Rain will push north of the Metro after midnight tonight, with clouds clearing with it. Sunshine returns Wednesday! Conditions will be a bit breezy, with gusts up to 30 mph, but we wills stay dry tomorrow with highs back in the 70s.
Enjoy the sunshine and dry time Wednesday, as storms return to the forecast by Thursday evening. Some of these storms could be strong to severe.
More storm chances take us into Memorial Day Weekend, so if you do have outdoor plans, you will want to keep an eye on the radar and forecast! At least temperatures will be in the 70s and 80s after today.
