OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A cloudy and cool start to the day here in the metro, but we managed enough sunshine this afternoon to pop temperatures into the middle 60s. A cold front is moving into the area now from the northwest. Showers and an isolated thunderstorms have developed along the front, and will continue to move our way this evening. Some heavier downpours are possible, mainly to the northwest of the metro area, with storms likely in the metro area by 7pm. No severe weather is expected. Showers and storms will be moving quickly, with rain chances winding down by Midnight. Temperatures overnight will fall into the mid and upper 40s.
Partly cloudy skies are expected for your Mother's Day. Temperatures will be a little chilly in the morning, warming into the low 60s by the afternoon. Clouds will build up during they day, with scattered showers possible in the afternoon. Any rain will be brief, but there will be some rain in the area. If rain moves through your area, temperatures may be knocked back into the 50s. Rain will quickly fade after sunset, with clearing skies overnight. Temperatures will once again by on the cool side, dropping into the low and mid 40s.
Warmer weather will finally return on Monday with mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will warm into the low to mid 70s. Even warmer conditions are expected on Tuesday with highs close to 80 degrees. A few scattered storms are possible Tuesday afternoon. Warm and dry weather will return Wednesday and Thursday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80. A slight chance for a few showers sneaks back into the forecast Friday morning, but temperatures on Friday remain warm with highs in the low 80s.
