After another cool start this morning across the region with temperatures in the upper 20s and low 30s, we saw plenty of sunshine this afternoon with high temperatures warming into the middle 50s in the metro. We'll continue to see quiet weather this evening, though clouds will begin to increase as we get closer to sunset. Rain showers will develop to our west after 8pm, and begin to spread into the area after 10pm. The best chance for rain in the metro will be between Midnight and 5am. Rain showers will be light and coverage will not be widespread, so impacts will be minimal. Rain showers will likely end before sunrise on Monday, with temperatures falling into the mid and low 40s by morning.
After some morning clouds, we will see more sunshine on Monday and temperatures should be quite a bit warmer. South to southwest winds along with plenty of sun will help us to warm into the low to mid 70s. Dry and mild weather Monday night with lows in the low 50s. We should be even warmer on Tuesday with highs in the mid and upper 70s across the area. A slight chance for a few thunderstorms enters the forecast late Tuesday evening, but rain coverage looks limited at this time. The better chances for showers and storms will hold off until Wednesday.
The warmth will stick around into Wednesday, but winds will be increasing as a storm system approaches. Showers and thunderstorms will be likely by the afternoon. With warm and humid air trying to push into the area, some of the storms could be on the strong to severe side. Pay attention to forecast updates through the week as we track this severe weather threat. Cold, breezy and rain conditions are expected on Thursday behind the storm system. Temperatures may be in the 50s early in the day, falling into the 40s by the afternoon. Drier and warmer weather is then expected to end the week.
