Ashly Richardson joined the WOWT 6 News team in July 2019 as a Daybreak reporter and multimedia journalist.
She came to Omaha from the NBC affiliate in Sioux City, Iowa, winning two regional Emmys for her reporting there.
She’s no stranger to Nebraska. She has covered parts of Northeast Nebraska, including the devastating flooding that impacted the region in March 2019 and a grain elevator explosion in South Sioux City.
Ashly has spent her entire life in the Midwest. Ashly grew up in Southeast Michigan in a small town forty miles north of Detroit.
She spent her college years in the Windy City. Ashly graduated from Columbia College Chicago, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
When Ashly isn’t spending time looking for stories, you can usually find her with her dog, Thor.
