Lileana Pearson
MMJ / Reporter
Omaha, Neb.

Lileana joined WOWT in Omaha from fellow Gray TV station WKYT in Lexington, Ky. From the Bluegrass State, she covered her community during extreme flooding to the highly contentious 6th District Congressional race.
Originally from south-central Kentucky, where she earned her undergrad in media studies from Lindsey Wilson College, Lileana completed her Master’s degree in broadcast and digital journalism from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University in New York.
During her graduate studies, Lileana worked with WAER-FM as a local reporter. She also reported abroad that year from Israel and the West Bank.
After grad school, she spent a summer reporting in Washington, D.C., for WFFF in Burlington, Vt., before heading back to Kentucky to work for WKYT.
During her summer in the Capitol, Lileana spoke to lawmakers about local repercussions of the U.S. and China trade war, including effects on the small-dairy industry and price increases on imported Canadian soft-wood lumber.
Lileana misses Kentucky winters, but already feels at home in the Midwest and can’t wait to learn more about the amazing city she now calls home.
When not at work, Lileana likes to explore the city, be in nature, binge true-crime podcasts, cook, and take her dog, Addy, to the park.
