Cecelia Jenkins joined the 6 News team in March 2020. She comes from WIBW, a sister station in Topeka, Kan. While there, she was the weekend morning anchor and a reporter. She loved the many stories she was able to tell in the state's capital. She spent a lot of time at the Statehouse covering elections and the state's school funding debate.
Cecelia is not new to the Midwest — and she's definitely used to the cold weather. She grew up in St. Paul, Minn., before moving to Chicago. She graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale — Go Salukis! — which is where she fell in love with journalism. She served as an anchor and reporter for the school's student-run newscast.
Cecelia is excited to be in Omaha. She loves to get outside and enjoy some fresh air, so you may see her outside taking a walk. She also loves to explore new restaurants, so if you have any suggestions please share.
If you see her out and about, don't be afraid to start a conversation. Cecelia wants to tell your stories. So if you have an idea, don't hesitate to reach out.
