Alex McLoon started at 6 News in November 2019. He has been reporting in Omaha since 2018.
He started his career broadcasting baseball, basketball and football games at the high school, college and professional levels in the Kansas City area.
Alex graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism. In Lawrence, Alex covered city and campus news for the student station KUJH. He also followed the Jayhawks' basketball and football programs.
He then covered news and sports in Topeka, Kansas at KSNT before moving to Omaha. Since moving to east Nebraska, Alex has filed stories surrounding the 2019 Midwestern floods, Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District, UNMC, and most recently COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter movement.
Alex has gained experience broadcasting presidential events, NCAA Tournaments and NFL games. He works to be a credible source and familiar face in Omaha.
